Understand a Rubik's Cube

A 3x3 Cube consists of 54 colours with 6 colours (orange, yellow, green, red, white, blue) in 6 Faces. Rubik’s is said to hold 43 quintillion (43,252,003,274,489,856,000) possible ways of configurations.

Every combination can be solved with less than 20 moves.

Notations

F(Front)

The side currently facing the solver

B (Back)

The side opposite the front

L (Left)

The side directly to the left of the front

R (Right)

The side directly to the right of the front

U (Up)

The side above or on top of the front side

D (Down)

The side opposite the top, underneath the Cube

Colour Position

Center

The center pieces of a Rubik's Cube have only 1 color and is fixed.

Edge

The edges of a Rubik's Cube have two colors.

Corner

The corner pieces of a Rubik's Cube have 3 colors.

We will be using the Method called Layer by Layer. Each layer will be solved from bottom to top

Method Used

We will be using the Method called Layer by Layer. Each layer will be solved from bottom to top

Steps

Step 1

Create a White Lilly. Surround the yellow center piece with white edges

Step 2

Create a White Cross. Move the white edges to the white center piece

Step 3

Corner Fill Layer 1. Fill the coreners to make First Layer

Step 4

Layer 2. Fill middle edge pieces to complete Layer 2

Step 5

Make yellow cross on Top Layer

Step 6

Match the Top edge

Step 7

Move the Corners

Step 8

Flip the corners
